PRESS BMUN LXVII

Hello delegates!! Before my dias and I dived in further with more PRESS related content, we wanted to share with you more about ourselves and hopefully you can get to know us better! So here it goes:  Hi, my name is Marine Fujisawa and I am a sophomore attending Berkeley studying political science and economics. I am originally from Southern California and so I love spending time in the sun near the water! This is my sixth year in MUN and I attended BMUN a few times as a delegate, so I am beyond excited to be able to serve as a head chair of PRESS this year. I also participated in journalism in high school so I am looking forward to hear all your ideas about the media. At Berkeley, I am also a part of a consulting group and a sorority. Hello everyone! I hope your week has been going splendidly. As promised, here is the assigned committee for each press syndicate.  Most committees have two topics of debate, so feel free to choose whichever one to write about in your editorial. As a reminder, your position paper will need to include a sample editorial. The position paper guideline states: "Here, construct a sample editorial article about how your editorial board thinks its country of origin is affected by the topic discussed in your assigned committee. Include all the components of a news article including the headline, byline, lead paragraph, and body paragraphs. Also include pictures that pertain to the topic." Hi everyone, WELCOME TO PRESS! My name is Marine Fujisawa, your head chair for this committee. My vice chairs are Emily Yan and Anushree Gupte, and we will be putting up individual introductions soon! First of all, I am already so excited to see you all in committee! Press is a committee that is so flexible so I hope we can have an educational yet enjoyable time. My vice chairs and I will be putting up more content in the upcoming weeks that will hopefully help you familiarize yourself with the committee and provoke some thought about the topics. Here are some housekeeping items: 1. Press has a different position paper format from other committees. Make sure you check how we want the position papers done on the BMUN website under the PRESS page! 2. In the position paper, we ask for an example editorial about another committee in BMUN 67.
